CPH:DOX and Absalon invite you for an evening of film, concert, and party! We start the evening with a movie screening and premiere of the film “I got words”. After the screening, there will be a Q&A with the director, Runar Gudnason, the film’s composer, Lawand Othman, and the entire cast. Hip Hop enthusiast, DJ, and radio host Pelle Peter Jencel is our host.
Following the screening and talk it’s concert time. Johny Hefty, Jøden, and DJ Static take the stage. Afterwards Raske Penge will get the dancefloor going until 02 o’clock.
ABOUT THE DOCUMENTARY
The first years of the 00s were a golden time for Danish rap with local heroes like Malk de Koijn, Raske Penge, L.O.C and Jonny Hefty.
It’s been 20 years since Norwegian Runar Gudnason picked up a camera in Aalborg and started filming the booming rap scene before heading back to Norway to become a well-known rapper. The film was never finished, but now Runar has found the old reels again, and with understated humour and self-irony, he visits his old friends and draws a line from his youth to today, where his grown son lives in Copenhagen and makes music himself in his bedroom.
‘I Got Words’ is a personal tale of rhyme, rap, rhythm and sound – and of life and all that.
