Absalon At Folkemødet

Folkehuset Absalon is heading to Folkemøde again this year. Together with Applaus and Dansk Kulturliv, we have created a packed program at Kulturens Plads.

We’ll have fun together, paint, sing, chat, quiz, learn new things, be creative, and of course, enjoy communal dining at the long tables every night.

We are incredibly excited to see you all!

Communal Dining:

We invite you to join us for communal dining every evening at 18:00 during Folkemøde. We will sit at long tables at Kulturens Plads, and the day’s menu will be served on platters for everyone to share. This means you might need to ask your neighbor to pass the bread, and you should be mindful to ensure everyone at the table has what they need. If you want to join, buy a ticket on the day at the venue. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and sales start when the bar opens. The menu will be vegetarian, and it costs 60 DKK to participate.

Politics & Pegboards:

Express yourself with pegboards! Come and place beads on pegboards – only your imagination sets the limits for what you can create. Absalon provides beads, pegboards, and irons, so you can take your creation with you to Folkemøde.

Make a Light Print:

Join us in making light prints with plants. Cyanotype is an old photographic technique where we use sunlight to develop images on fabric and paper. We’ll teach you how to make your own images with flowers, grass, seaweed, or whatever else you come up with. Everyone is welcome to participate.

Linocut Printing:

Make your own linocut prints at Kulturens Plads. Everyone can join. We’ll help you get started, but you decide if you want to carve and print a pattern, a logo, a person, or any other design. When you’re finished, you can take your linoleum plate home for more prints.

Paint Your Opinion:

Express your opinion with paint, figures, and words. Folkehuset Absalon provides the materials so you can unleash your inner poster artist. The workshop is open at Kulturens Plads, so stop by for 10 minutes or 3 hours. When you’re done, you can take your work with you or leave it in the communal exhibition.

Say It with Badges:

Start your morning at Kulturens Plads by formulating the day’s message as a badge. Whether you want to demand more bikes in the city, a longer summer vacation, more dancing in cafeterias, or if you want to honor your favorite politician or your mom, you can say it with your badge. We open the badge workshop Friday and Saturday mornings at 9:00 and provide everything you need to “shine bright with badges” all day long.
