6-WEEK INTERMEDIATE CERAMIC COURSE

Have you already tried your hand at ceramics and do you want to delve even deeper, then join us for this 6-week course for advanced participants.

In this intermediate course, you will work independently on your projects. The instructor can provide guidance and advice along the way. It is a course without formal teaching, so it’s best if you are familiar with basic techniques such as coiling and slab techniques and have previous experience with engobe (slip colour).

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Price: 1300 DKK

The course spans over six Tuesdays, the course is three hours each time. During the final session, we will glaze the pieces, and you will receive an introduction on how to glaze. The price includes instruction, 3,5 kg of clay (with the option to purchase more), glaze, and firing. You can create items measuring up to 25 cm in width and height.

For the first five sessions, we will shape objects in clay, and there is an option to decorate them with clay colour (engobe). During the last session, we will glaze the creations, and there will be a demonstration for when we are glazing.

The ceramics workshop is on the 3rd floor of Folkehuset Absalon. There is no elevator. Wear clothes that can bear getting dirty. Our ceramicists will guide you and give you advice, but we can’t guarantee that all the clay creations will make it through the firing.
