Create Your Own Ceramic Tiles

In this class, we will be creating 12 unique ceramic tiles of your own.
 

You can use the tiles as wall decorations, a splashback behind your stove, an ornamental pieces for shelves and window sills, or as coasters.

You will roll out the clay and shaping it to add your personal touch by creating reliefs or patterns on the clay.

Our experienced ceramic instructors will teach you techniques and methods so that you can independently craft these tiles. Engage in idea and inspiration exchange with fellow ceramic enthusiasts in the class.

SCHEDULE FOR THE COURSE

1st week (5/12)

Design your tiles and roll out the clay.

2nd week (12/12)

Shape the tiles and add decorations.

3rd week (19/12)

Continue working on your tiles.

A BRAKE FOR CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY

4th week (2/1)

We will glaze the tiles.

NOTE We will meet four Tuesdays, with each session lasting three hours. There will be a break for the christmas holidays the 26/12  Everyone can participate, regardless of ceramic experience.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Price 650 kr

The price includes instruction, 3 kg of clay (with the option to purchase more), glaze, and firing.

You can create 12 tiles that are approximately 15 x 15 cm.

The ceramics workshop is located on the 3rd floor of Folkehuset Absalon. There is no elevator. Please wear clothing that can withstand getting dirty.

Our ceramic artist will guide and provide good advice, but we cannot guarantee that all clay creations will survive the trip in the oven.

NOTE: Remember to carefully check the dates before purchasing a ticket! Tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged for a different date.
