Contemporary Dance – Back to the Body

20:00 - 21:30

Come join this dance event when Jens-Antonio & and Absalon invite you to an evening of contemporary dance movement and music.

At this event, the big main hall of Absalon will be a warm and welcoming candlelit dance space where we will be moving together. We will move our bodies to the sound of DJ David Astra while Jens-Antonio will be guiding the movements. We will dance continuously together for one and a half hours, allowing our bodies the freedom of expressive movements. Here we will find a space to rest, reset our minds, and let our bodies sweat.

No previous dance experience necessary. Bring an open curious mind and body ready to move.

About the teacher

Jens-Antonio Schyth Brøndum (He/him), is a contemporary mover based in Copenhagen. Jens-Antonio is educated at The Danish National School of Performing Arts and has worked with choreographer Sita Ostheimer based in Berlin, Germany. Simultaneously, Jens worked with numerous Danish-based companies, notably: Uppercut Dance Theater, Danish Dance Theater, Holstebro Dance Company, and the Royal Danish Theater, cultivating his ties to the freelance scene in Denmark.

About the DJ

David Astra dive into a wave of songwriters and producers who allow themselves to not be limited by the conventions of pop, and who nevertheless show no urge to actively distance themselves from it. David Astra’s electronic universe brings to mind time-defining musicians such as James Blake and FKA Twigs. Musicians who catch your attention, but who again and again dare to break with your and other listeners’ expectations. David Astra also goes by the name DJ Bambi Milan, and tonight the two worlds will merge in a sensuous DJ set that will explore both the sensitive and festive.
