THIS EVENT IS IN DANISH!
Experience opera up close and from behind the curtain when the Royal Danish Theatre visits Absalon and takes us into the world of opera and good stories.
This evening we get close to Puccini’s dramatic opera Madame Butterfly about the young woman who is exploited and has her butterfly wings brutally torn off. The tragic love story of the Japanese geisha Cio-Cio-San’s encounter with an American lieutenant in Nagasaki is deeply moving and at the same time corrosively powerful. We’ll hear the thoughts behind the performance, listen to excerpts and learn more about the opera.
Look forward to meeting the evening’s host, Opera Director Elisabeth Linton, as well as the featured singers, who will be announced in January.
It’s quite informal, so leave your theater coat at home and bring your curiosity, because we’ll be watching opera from our flat shoes and with a glass of Wednesday wine or a cold beer in hand.
We look forward to talking about and watching opera from the Royal Danish Theatre on Absalon’s stage.
With love from all of us,
The Royal Danish Theater and Absalon
